The old Park Green Mill was demolished to build 36 brand new one and two bedroom apartments, which will be available for affordable rent. The apartments feature a modern, open plan lounge and kitchen, with generous sized bedrooms. Private parking is available for all residents.
The development is named Throwsters Court in honour of those who worked in the mills in that area, as a throwster is a person who twists silk fibres into thread. The name was suggested by Macclesfield’s Civic Society.
Laura Astwood, Development Partnerships Manager says “We love the idea of naming the development after the mill workers, rather than the mill owners who have had several local streets named after them! After it sitting empty for so long, we are also delighted to be able to bring this key town centre location back into use.
