BRI AMBULATORY CARE SCHEME
£ 600k Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) to treat emergency medical patients who don’t need to be admitted overnight.
This is a brand new facility for the trust and allows patients who would normally be treated as an inpatient for routine investigations or procedures to be seen as a day case, freeing up much needed bed space on the wards.
The main aim of the scheme was to refurbish the old Pathology management offices to provide six new consultation rooms and a four bay trolley waiting area. This means the unit can accommodate up to ten patients at any one time.
The theme chosen by the staff for the areas was ‘The Yorkshire Dales’. The environment created is very welcoming and calming for patients visitors & staff, whilst maintaining high standards of infection prevention & functionality.
